Norm graduated in 1958 — the first graduating class of Linton High School. After graduation, Norm would join the United States Air Force where he served his country honorably and faithfully in the Schenectady Air National Guard.  He was activated in the Berlin Crisis in 1963.  He completed a four year apprenticeship and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 17.
