Rotterdam – Frances N. Rossetti Lawyer, 84, passed away on Sunday June 1, 2025 after a short illness. Born in Schenectady she was the daughter of Albert and Phyllis (Campana) Rossetti.
A graduate of Linton High School Frances began her working career as an X-ray technician at St. Clares Hospital and then went on to work for the US Data corporation. From the late 1970’s to 1999 Frances was the owner/proprietor of Rolling Greens (bowling lanes) in Rotterdam and then from 2000-2017 owned Rolling Greens in Scotia. When she wasn’t at the bowling lanes you could find Frances hanging out with her many friends. She loved going to Saratoga flats with her lifelong friend Shirley Brown and her lifelong partner Richard Peckham who both predeceased her. Frances also loved going to the Saratoga harness track to watch her sons horses race (his favorite horses were Bama Bound, Romantic Comedy and Romigs Hot Rod) which led her to the winners circle. She also loved to travel, especially to Pompano Beach where she loved to watch her sons horses race and visit him. Thank you to all her many friends who are too numerous to mention, they know who they are. A special thanks to Melinda Folmsbee who was like a daughter to her that helped her son greatly through the late difficult times.
Frances is survived by her son Gilbert (Chip) Lawyer Jr.
Her sister Kathleen Spetla.
She is also survived by her nephew Victor Rossetti.
