Rotterdam, NY. Margaret Grzywaczewski age 92 passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 4, 2025.
Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Matilda (Mihalik) Rakvica.
Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years Thaddeus Grzywaczewski. She is survived by 6 children, Claudia (Kenneth) Backowski; Margaret (William) Bradbury; Thaddeus (Katherine) Grey; Susan (Gregory) Kerber; Terese (Thomas) O’Brien and Cynthia (Dennis) Connelly along with her brothers, Joseph (Patricia) Rakvica and Rudolph (Janet) Rakvica. Margaret is survived by 19 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
Margaret co-owned a Polish grocery store “Grey’s Food Market” in the Mont Pleasant area for 40 years, that was well known for their Kielbasa. Marge loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. Marge was a devout communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Rotterdam where she had been a parishioner since 1960.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Demarco Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave, Schenectady, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday June 12, 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Entombment to follow at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery.
