Lisa M. DeSousa

SCHENECTADY- Lisa Marie DeSousa, 61, of Schenectady New York passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.

Lisa was born on January 26, 1964 in Rotterdam New York to George and Lucille DeSimone. Lisa was a graduate of Schalmont High School and completed her associate’s degree at Maria College in Albany, New York.

Lisa began her career working at Price Chopper where she met the love of her life, Carlos DeSousa. Together, they were able to share 41 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother, wife and Vavo, dedicating most of her time to being involved with her family and providing support and guidance to those around her.

Lisa is survived by her husband Carlos DeSousa; their two children, Vanessa (Nicholas) DeGasperis and Anthony (Grace) DeSousa, her four grandchildren Liam (5), Sofia (4), Amalia (2), and Madeline (9mo). She is also survived by her sister Yvonne (Paul) Calkins, Erik (David) Riban, and her parents George and Lucille DeSimone.

Services will be held on Tuesday June 17, 2025 at 11:45 am in the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave. Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with Lisa’s family prior to her service from 9 am to 11:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers it was Lisa's wish that donations be made to the ALS Foundation.
