Schenectady – Deacon Gregory J. Zoltowski, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Born in Brooklyn, Greg was the son of the late Thaddeus and Adela Wojtaszek Zoltowski. He graduated from St. John the Evangelist Elementary School and Bishop Ford High School, both in Brooklyn. Greg received his Bachelor’s degree from the Pratt Institute School of Fine Arts and went on to graduate from the Catholic University in Washington, D.C. receiving his Master’s degree in Fine Arts. Greg also received a Master’s degree in Theology from Iona College.
From 1971-1974 he served our country in the United States Air Force. In June of 1982, Greg was solemnly professed in the Franciscan Order. After leaving the Franciscan Order he was ordained as a Deacon in the Diocese of Albany on October 7, 2000.
For over 34 years Greg was a Professor of Fine Arts at Siena College before retiring.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne McAlee Zoltowski and was the beautiful and wonderful father & godfather to Ashley Zoltowski.
He is also survived by his brother, Joseph (Regina) Zoltowski of Staten Island along with his two nieces Rebecca and Emily Zoltowski.
Reception of the body will take place 4pm Monday at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Guilderland. Visitation will immediately follow with a Mass of Christian burial being celebrated at 6pm.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
