Hilda G. Snare, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
Born in Niskayuna, New York, she was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn Grace (Hutt) Ballard, Sr.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her brother, James Ballard, Jr., and her sister, Shirley M. Phinney.
Hilda is survived by her loving husband, Peter C. Snare; her daughters, Pamela (Zelindo) Viscusi and Gina (Brandon) Greco; and her son, Michael Grecco. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Antonio, Mattia, Lauren, Francesca, Michaela, and Gabrielle. Hilda is further survived by her siblings, Robert (Jeanette) Ballard, Virginia (the late Joseph) Ciamacco, Karen (Leo) Falconio, and Katherine (Mark) Pohl; her brother-in-law, David Phinney; her sister-in-law, Gloria Ballard; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hilda’s devoted team of aides: Amina, Razia, Seema, Lee, Beverly, and Desiree, for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY.
A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at 1:00 PM, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hilda’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Community Hospice.
