Margaret "Peggy" Capitummino

Rotterdam - Margaret “Peggy” Capitummino, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on July 12, 1950, Peggy was a proud graduate of Schoharie High School. On June 5, 1971, she married the love of her life, Salvatore Capitummino, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Peggy took immense pride in being a stay-at-home mom to her two sons, Nicholas (Stacey) and Jeffrey (Heather). She believed deeply in the value of raising her children herself, considering it far superior to daycare or babysitters — a choice that shaped the strong, loving family she cherished.

Later in life, Peggy worked for many years as a pharmacy technician at Hannaford Supermarket, where she was known for her kindness, reliability, and gentle spirit.

Peggy had a passion for garage sales, estate sales, and antiques — always on the hunt for hidden treasures — but nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her family. She adored her grandchildren, Christian and Nicholas, and her step‑grandchildren Nathan (Nicole) and Alex (Emille) Tinney. She was overjoyed to welcome her great‑granddaughter, Aria, and step great‑granddaughters Brooklyn and Vera.

Peggy’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visiting hour will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service to follow on Wednesday October 28, 2026, at DeMarco‑Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Peggy’s memory by spending time with your loved ones — just as she always did.
