Jane J (Formichelli) Bohunicky

Niskayuna - Jane J. Bohunicky, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 1, 2013 after a short illness. Jane was born on March 19, 1921 in Schenectady to the late Gabriel and Carmela Calandra Formichelli. She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, class of 1939. Jane worked at the Stardust Motel as an office manager. She was a parishoner of St. Gabriels Church and a member of the Lady Bugs Golf League. Jane was an avid sports enthusiast. In her youth she played tennis, basketball, baseball and enjoyed bowling and a round of golf well into her later years. She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed making clothes for family and friends. On May 16, 1943, Jane married Martin Bohunicky who predeceased her on November 11, 2006. She is survived by her son, Marty (Andrea) Bohunicky of Delanson, NY; daughter, Barbara (Harry) Gaumond of Cape Cod, MA; grandchildren, Jeff Gaumon, Amy Riordan, Madison and Avalon Bohunicky; and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Julia Riordan. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph, Pat, Victor, Angelo, Helen Denofio, Julia Sabatelli, Phyllis Spany, Mary Formichelli, Lucille Doyle, Antoinette Formichelli and Ann Barone. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Services will begin at 8:15 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home, thence to St. Lukes Catholic Church, State Street for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Cyrils Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308. The family extends a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff of the Ingersoll Place Assisted Living Facility for their kindness, compassion and care of Jane. Arrangements are entrusted to the R.J.
