Schenectady – Winifred Marjorie Cimino passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 31st, 2020. She was one month shy of 98.

Born on February 1, 1923 in Burlington, VT, Winnie was the daughter of the late Martin and Julia (LaRock) Duchane.

She married her late husband, Joseph, on March 26, 1944. Together they shared 66 years of marriage.

In the 1940’s, while Joseph was fighting in World War II, Winnie went to work for the General Electric Company. She later worked for many years as a cook and waitress for her sister-in-law and friend, Rose Adamec, at the Edgewood Restaurant.

Winnie had a warm, angelic presence and loved to laugh. She could be described as fun loving and silly at times. She loved to read and was a wonderful cook and loved to bake, she was especially known for her fresh blueberry pie.

Winnie’s main job in life was as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted caregiver to her beloved husband, Joseph, at the end of his life.

Winnie was always there for anyone in need. She was a loving, gentle and prayerful woman but  firm when she needed to be.  She had a nonjudgmental attitude and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Donna Bonano (Bill), John Cimino (Lisa), Pamela Dussault (Bill) and Gale Tiberio (Phil). She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law, Ann Bradshaw and Vivian Shoemaker as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in 2010 by her husband, Joseph Cimino and was also predeceased by her siblings, Violet, Pearl, Ronald, Doris, Ethel, Leona, Harold, Beulah and Harriet as well as her adored pets, Teddy, Pebbles and Peter.
