Michael Donald Abbatiello

Michael D. Abbatiello, 48, of Schenectady, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 7, 2021. Michael grew up in Schenectady and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School where he ran cross country track. He moved to Rex, Georgia for several years before returning to Schenectady. He was employed for several years as a CDL Driver for Ryder Truck Rental. Michael enjoyed fishing and loved playing Ping Pong. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Army Nation Guard. Michael is survived by his son, Michael James Abbatiello of Exeter, NY; parents, Michael (Phyllis) Abbatiello of Schenectady and Deborah (Dennis) Needham of Princetown; one Sister, Kimberly (Phil) Quindara of Rotterdam and his brother, Marc Abbatiello of Rotterdam and his devoted aunt, Bonnie Cordy of Schenectady as well as several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to his caregivers, Angel Young, Marc Abbatiello, Gary Cordy and Julio Bender, and to his step mother, Phyllis Abbatiello for overseeing his medical business. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family requests memorial donations be made to Community Hospice, 310 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
