Kimberly Ann Agosta, 55, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was the oldest daughter of the late Susan Ann (McCormick) and John William Garcia. After she graduated from Schalmont High School, she met her husband, Carmen Agosta, and they shared 37 happy years together before Carmen passed in November of 2021.
Kim spent her career as a registered nurse, first working in a thoracic surgical office in Albany, and later as a medical nurse case manager at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Knowledgeable and compassionate, Kim was known to advocate consistently for her patients, never giving up until she knew they were receiving the best care possible.
In her spare time, Kim most enjoyed spending time with her daughter, who she had raised to walk right in her footsteps, now working as a registered nurse in cardiothoracic operating rooms. Kim loved reading, visiting Disney World, and giving thoughtful gifts to the people she cared about, which helped fuel her love of shopping (specifically on QVC—Christmas in July!—and Home Shopping Network). An enthusiastic Bruce Springsteen groupie, Kim traveled up and down the east coast to attend as many concerts as possible for each tour, easily making friends at each stop along the way.
It was easy because Kim charmed everyone she met with her great sense of humor. While she was fun to be around, she was also an amazing person to have in your corner as a determined, loyal, and empathetic friend.
Kimberly is survived by her daughter, Chloe Agosta (Dean Segatto); her sisters, Lisa (Matthew) Haskin and Mary (Nicholas) Andreoli; and her nieces and nephews, Connor Haskin, Kiera Haskin, and Nicky Andreoli, who loved her dearly. The beautiful memories she left behind as a wonderful sister and mother will always be cherished.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home on Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Calling hours will be from 10:30 to 12:30 pm with a short service immediately following.
Memorial contributions in Kim’s name may be made to the Animal Protection Foundation (APF) at 53 Maple Avenue, Glenville, NY, [ZIP], or the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at PO Box 5801, Bethesda, MD, 20824.
