Joyce (Morgan) Buechner

Schenectady -Dorothy "Joyce" Buechner of Schenectady died peacefully on Saturday, April 20 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 19, 1924 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Anna M. Morgan. She worked for the NYS Dept of Transportation and ran Joyce's Ceramics for many years. Joyce is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Gerhard "Jerry" Buechner, loving sisterJune Baker, seven children: Norman (Pat), Linda (Tim) Patryk, Janice (Richard) Kinzel, James, Joanne (David) Romanowski, Richard (Melissa) and David (Nancy). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Thomas, Eric, Donna Flannery, Sharon Hansen, Jeremy, April, Steven and Jonathan Romanowski, Jill Henderson, Morgan and Mackenzie and ten great-grandchildren: Kendall, Andrew, Adam, Aidan, Eden, LJ, Makayla, Dylan, Luke and Reece, several nieces and nephews including devoted niece Cheri Hannan, and many friends. She was predeceased by granddaughter, Bailey and a sister, Jean Morgan. The family extends profound gratitude to all of the wonderful caregivers in the Ellis ICU for their tender and compassionate care, especially, Harry, truly her angel of mercy. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory's Garden, Colonie.
