James D. Malin, 65, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was born on April 19, 1951 and lived in Schenectady and Connecticut . James was predeceased by his father, Anthony. James was a wonderful caregiver to his mother Marion for the past five years. He was a graduate of Draper High School and the University of Cincinnati, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. James held positions in the General Electric Lab Schenectady, the M & P Lab in Scotia and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Griswold Inn, in Essex, and Deerfield Village in Niantic, CT.He loved coaching his children for the Rotterdam Little League, the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, fishing, camping and the Ocean. James is survived by his mother, Marion, his daughter Jessica, his son Jordan, one sister Lauri (Bill) Gallagher as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews, his dear friend, Susan Morris and the “Breakfast Club” friends. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday from 5-7 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. A Memorial service will begin at 7 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org, or to a charity of choice.
