Rotterdam Frank E. Zaloga, 56, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2014. Frank was born in Albany on July 10, 1957, the son of the late Theodore and Mary Zaloga. He was a graduate of Cardinal McCluskey High School and later served in the Navy from 1975 to 1979, serving on the USS Albany.After the Navy, Frank attended and graduated from Albany Business College. Frank retired from the New York State Attorney General's Office in 2012. Frank is survived by his son, Benjamin; his daughter, Jillian; stepson, Derek (Janet) Taylor; his brother, James (Debra); nephews, Zachary and Michael; niece, Stephanie. He is also survived by his loving companion, Kathy Rider and her children, Shannon, Kevin, and Patrick and her granddaughter Alana. Frank is also survived by his dear friend,Arthur Conduzio. Frank was devoted to his children and they loved him without limit. His quick wit and quiet strength will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to really know him. A memorial calling period will be held Monday, January 20, from 4 to 6pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Military honors for Frank will follow at 6pm after which a period of remembrance will conclude the calling hours. Frank's burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
