Rotterdam - Filomena "Filly" Viscusi, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 12th, 2021. She was born in Squille, Italy (a hamlet of Caserta) on March 5th, 1931 to her parents, the late Gennaro Sgueglia and Giachelina Gallo Sgueglia. Filomena married her husband, Carlo Viscusi on February 28th, 1957 and immigrated to the United States in 1958.
She was a full-time homemaker who loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Everyone was welcome at her home at any time, where there was always a pot of coffee ready and an open seat at the table or on the porch for a chat. Filomena always enjoyed going to parties, having her hair done, going shopping (especially for shoes), watching the Italian channel, and tending to her beautiful flower garden. Not a day went by where she couldn't be found on the phone, talking with her family and friends locally or back home in Italy, spreading the news and keeping everyone in the loop. Above all else, Filomena adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Filomena was predeceased by her husband Carlo Viscusi, brothers Pietro & Romanino Sgueglia, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
Filomena leaves behind her devoted Children- Maria Delmonaco, Zelindo "Ziggy" Viscusi (Glorianna), Carla France, and Lora Cannistraci (James); Grandchildren- Joseph Delmonaco (Emily), Steven Delmonaco (Emily), Annalisa Zappia (Joshua), Cassandra DiCosta (Anthony), Carlo Viscusi, Rachael Preston (Brandon), Olivia Cannistraci, Alberto Cannistraci, and Nico Cannistraci; Great Grandchildren- Lillian Delmonaco, Dominic Zappia, Alana Zappia, and Leo DiCosta.
