Schenectady – Eleanor M. Foshee passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25th, 2019 at the age of 82. Ellie was born in Plattsburgh, NY to her parents, the late Arnold and Manuela (Vasquez) Bruso. Ellie was a generous woman her whole life. When her kids were growing up she was the “neighborhood mom” always welcoming her children’s friends into her yard or home and when she got older if she saw someone in need of something she would go out and buy it for them. She loved to make people happy. Ellie enjoyed shopping anywhere and everywhere but especially from home on QVC. She was a hard worker and was currently, until she got sick, working at Lily and the Rose Catering in Saratoga Springs as a prep cook. Ellie had the ability to fix almost anything around the house. She was a handywoman, jack of all trades and even had all of her own tools. For many years, Ellie was a member of the Church of St. Adalbert and their choir. Ellie will be missed and remembered by her 4 children, Margaret Harper (Dean), Susan Horn, Nancy Brennan (Lee Bene) and Arthur Horn Jr. (Debbie), her grandchildren, Dean Harper II (Deann), Rhonda Durfee (Darrell), Peter DiCocco Jr. (Elaina), Christina Horn and April Horn as well as her great grandchildren, Abbie, Brady, Chloe and Destiny. She also leaves behind her sisters, Carmen Kingsley, Nancy Oxford and Frances Gallo, her cousin, Delores Thomas, her best friend, Jeannette Guin and her beloved cat, Dolly. Besides her parents, Ellie was predeceased by her husbands, Arthur “Skip” Horn and Charles Foshee and her brother-in-laws, Royal Kingsley, James Oxford and Leon Woodbeck. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 29th from 9:45am-10:45am at the Church of St. Adalbert, 550 Lansing Street, Schenectady and will be followed by a mass of Christian burial beginning at 11am. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to a luncheon following services at the cemetery at 1:30pm at the home of Ellie’s daughter, Susan Horn, 153 Henry St., Schenectady, NY 12304. Because of Ellie’s love for animals, contributions in her name may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
