Schenectady – Carmelina Coppola, 94, passed away Saturday June 16, 2018. Born on February 3, 1924 in Calabria, Italy, she came to the United States in 1958. For many years Carmelina was a seamstress and dressmaker for the Cheltingham Factory and also out of her home. Carmelina was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the women’s society. She will be remembered and cherished for the love of her family and raising 6 children; Biagio (Sharon) Pace of Galway, Josephine Longe of Schenectady, the late Mario Pace, Angela Rose (the late Ferdinando) Mastroianni, Elena Coppola and the late Paul Coppola. 5 siblings; Mario Pace and Lina Spatola both of Canada and the late Jeff, Riccardo and Argolino Pace. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jeremy, Kevin, Aaron, Paul, Caleb, Nicholas, Heather, Kimberly, Joseph, Paul, Roberto, Maddalena, Andy and Anna along with her 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 9-10:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam followed by an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
