Antonette (Abbato) Boreali

Schenectady - Antonette Boreali of Schenectady N.Y. passed awayon December 13th, 2012 at home with her family at bedside. She was born in Schenectady to the late Michael and Angelina Abbato, on August 28th, 1923. Ann graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1942. She married Julius Boreali, her life partner on August 19th, 1945. They resided in Schenectady, where they raised their three children. Ann worked much of her adult life after her three children reached school age. She had a good sense of values which revolved around family life. She was an excellent cook, a spotless house keeper and was passionate about her family and friends. Ann was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue, and more recently a member of Mont Carmel Church in Schenectady. Ann loved to travel with her husband Julius, to various LST veterans events around the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters' Phyllis DiCarlo, Sandra Chiofalo, her daughter Gail Ann Lewis and her son-in-law Larry Lewis. Antonette is survived by her husband Julius, her son Fred Boreali of Scotia N.Y., her daughter Judy Sogoianand son-in-law Charles Sogoian of Schenectady. She is survived by her beloved brother Ben Abbato.Ann is additionally survived by four grandchildren, Matthew Lewis of N.Y.C., Bradley Lewis of Annapolis Maryland, Jayme Gottschall of St. Johns Virgin Islands, and Brandon Sogoian of Rochester New York. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, whom she adored, Adler, Gianna, Julius and Cruz. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Saturday December 15, 2012 from 9-11 a.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ann's name may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady or a charity of one's choice.
