Rotterdam- Winifred June Springer, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2022 in Port Orange, FL. Born in Rexford, NY, Winifred was the daughter of the late Clifford and Catherine Pierce. She was married to the late Ellis Springer before his passing in 1988. Winifred was a Lady Auxiliary member of the local VFW Post 3282 in Florida, as well as the Red Hatters in Port Orange. She enjoyed ice skating until the age of 90, playing Bingo with family and friends, her favorite board games, Parcheesi, crossword puzzles, and traveling abroad to Hawaii and Germany. Survivors include her soulmate, Jim Morton, her sons; Gary (Jacquelyn) Springer, Dennis Springer, Kevin (Robin) Springer, and Brian A. (Jacqueline) Springer, her grandchildren; Jeffrey Springer, Kimberly Longo (Dan), Gregary Springer (Margarita), Michael Mogavero, Kyle Springer, Brian E. Springer, Ian (Tara) O’Brien, and Stuart O’Brien (Maria Caprara), her great-grandchildren; Dylan, Aliyana, Kendra, Luke, Destiny, Liam, Greyson, Eoin, and Tiernan, as well as many loving relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, all of her siblings, her granddaughter, Monica Rae, and her grandson, Georgie O’Brien. A calling hour will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 11:30am-12:30pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306. A funeral service will take place at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Viewland Cemetery in Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VFW Post 3282, 5810 S.
