William "Bill" R Sweeney

Hagaman, NY - William R. Sweeney, 81 of Hagaman, NY, passed away on Tuesday,January 19, 2021 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. Bill was born on July 7, 1939 in Johnstown, NY. He was the son of the late Edward J. Sweeney and Dorothy Passero Sweeney. Bill was a graduate of Johnstown High School and he attended the University of Buffalo and RPI. Bill was employed by General Electric until his retirement. Bill was a volunteer fireman with the Hagaman Vol. Fire Dept. for many years and was on the Zoning Board in Hagaman. Hewas an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Bill loved to travel and go sightseeing. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Marie Bant Sweeney whom he married on April 25, 1964. Bill is survived by his daughter, KellyAnn Sweeney Farnum and her husband Thomas of Glenville and son, William R. Sweeney Jr. and his wife LeAnn of St. Petersburg, FL.; two grandsons Nathan Thomas Farnum and Ryan William Farnum; several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no services for Bill at this time.
