William H Miller Jr

William H. Miller Jr., 76, of Rotterdam, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 with his family by his side. Born in Schenectady, William was the son of Schenectady Police Captain William H. Miller Sr. and Elspeth Lowe Miller. Bill was a Schenectady Fire Fighter for 26 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a proud member of the Schenectady Permanent Fireman's Association and also served as Vice President on the union's executive board for several years. Bill was also instrumental in starting the Schenectady Retired Fire Fighters Association.Bill also enjoyed his time working as a truck driver with UPS. He retired with over 20 years of service from the local #294 teamsters union. Besides traveling, he enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, woodworking and camping with close friends and family. I addition to his parents, Bill was also predeceased by his late wife of 24 years, Helen L. Miller and brother in law, Anthony Attanasio. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 29 years; Carmella, his loving children; Kristine (John) Tommasone, William H. (Corrine) Miller III,Sandra (John) Daunais and step children; Nicki (Bruce) Stoddard and Maria (Joe) Gage, ten grandchildren and one great grandson, his sister; Leslie (Ray) Senecal as well as several nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by his brothers in law and sisters in law; John and Judy Attanasio, Sandy Roberts and Gayle and Fred Henry. Bill was a true and loyal friend who will be missed by many. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of William H.
