William Lawless

Minneapolis, MN - Bill Lawless passed away on December 31, 2017 in Minneapolis MN at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his first wife Eileen (Fonda) and son Kevin. He was also predeceased by his five brothers, Michael, Charles, Jack, Alfred and Joseph Lawless and three sisters, Rosemary Mackewicz, Agnes Gardner and Elizabeth Lawless. Bill was born in Saugerties, NY on January 11, 1926 to the late Michael and Martha LaHoud Lawless and served in the United States Army during WWII. Bill graduated from Saugerties High School and spent 35 plus year career working in the Large Motor and Generator Divisions of General Electric in Schenectady. Bill was active throughout his life in the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and Boys and Girls Club of Schenectady. His friendship and kindness to others will be remembered by many as well as his sense of humor. Bill was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Gilberti), son, Craig and his wife Robbin, brother in law, Robert Gardner, step daughters, Joann (Bill) Droms and Carla (John) Diamond and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins . Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Sunday January 7th from 2 pm to 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church at 10 am on Monday, January 8th. Interment will follow at Schenectady Memorial Park, Giffords Church Road, Rotterdam.
