Wendy Rucci

Wendy Rucci, 69, of Guilderland passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St Peter's Hospital with her loving husband and children by her side.

She was born on April 8, 1955 to the late Albert and Geraldine Buono of Schenectady. Wendy graduated from the former Notre Dame High School as part of the class of 1973. She went on to attend Russell Sage College and later received her Master's Degree in Biology from The College of Saint Rose.  Wendy was united in marriage to Dennis Rucci on May 20, 1984. They recently celebrated their 40 year anniversary.

Wendy was employed as a Medical Technologist at St. Clare's Hospital, Community Care and various other doctors' offices in the area. She also worked at Guilderland High School as a teacher's assistant while her children attended school in order to be home with them more often.

In her spare time Wendy enjoyed taking day trips, reading mystery novels, and researching her family ancestry. She was also an avid New York sports fan, with the Yankees, Rangers, and Jets being her favorite teams. Wendy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and considered that to be her highest purpose in life.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Rucci and children Kathleen Rucci (Saratoga Springs) and Justin Rucci (Guilderland), as well as many close cousins and relatives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday August 13, 2024 at 11:00am at St John the Evangelist Church 812 Union St Schenectady, NY 12308.  Wendy will be laid to rest at St Cyril's Cemetery following services.
