Warren Martin Bollinger

February 13, 1965 — February 26, 2018

Guilderland – Warren Martin Bollinger, age 53, passed away of a heart attack at his home on February 26th, 2018. Warren was born in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents, Lawrence and Addisu (Ritchie) Bollinger. Warren was brought up in Connecticut and attended college at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he received his Bachelor’s degree and was a member of the Acacia Fraternity. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Education from Union College. For the last 20 years, Warren was a teacher at Guilderland High School where he taught mathematics and computer science. He was the girls’ volleyball coach for many seasons. Warren loved and cherished his fellow co-workers and his students. He was an avid scuba diver, taking trips throughout the world to explore the seas and Warren was also excited for the springtime so he could resume his new found love for pickleball, maybe to replace his previous love for competitive volleyball. Warren’s sense of humor was second to none and he will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Warren leaves behind to treasure his memory, his fun-loving sister, Wendy (Rick) Hoffman and his very special niece, Niki, his father, Lawrence A. Bollinger, “his Nancy” (step-mother) and her family, Renee, Nicole, Alex and Rain. He also leaves behind his faithful k-9 companions, his boys, Wylie and Deacon as well as countless dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Addisu Ritchie Bollinger. A celebration of Warren’s life will be held on Saturday, March 24th from 7pm to 9pm at Mallozzi’s, 1930 Curry Road in Rotterdam. Preplanned celebration remarks will begin at 8pm. Friends and students are encouraged to attend. Attire will be casual as Warren was a casual man. Memorial contributions in Warren’s name may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302 or to any charity near to your hearts.
