Walter T Parks

Latham – Walter T. Parks, 85, passed away Monday October 30, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Ballston Spa, he was the son of Walter and Margaret Parks. Walter graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and the Technical Electrical Course. Walter was a master toolmaker for the Watervliet Arsenal retiring in 1992 after 34 of service. He enjoyed golfing, camping and a warm day with a book to read. He will be remembered for his love of family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sabine Parks. Four Stepchildren; Judy Meister, Tammy Holland, Tracy Lanni and Steven Parks. Two brothers; John (Lucy) Parks and Richard (Janis) Parks. Walter is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Parks. A memorial service will be held 4:30 pm Friday at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A calling period will precede the service from 3-4:30 pm. The family requests flowers not be sent and memorial contributions be sent in Walter's memory to the Northeast Kidney Foundation 501 New Karner Rd., Suite 6, Albany, NY 12205.
