Schenectady, NY-Walter Horst Lippmann, age 95, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2015 at Baptist Healthcare and Rehab Center, Scotia. He was born in Germany on September 19, 1919, son of the late Walter Otto and Dora (Hoesel) Lippmann.He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on December 29, 1945, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, in the US Army,serving during World War II.His last professional employment was with Sealtest Foods where he retired as a plant engineer after 36 years of dedicated service in 1993.Mr. Lippmann was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #357. Survivors include his son, Walter (Sandra) Lippmann; daughter, Eileen (Vernon) Sowle; grandchildren, Kimberly Lippmann Place, Walter (Jenny) Lippmann II, Shannon (Michael) Harmon, Jennette (Curt) Stephens and Brittany (Michael) Yannucci; great grandchildren, Zachary, Hunter, Noah, Preston, Bowdie, Avery and Aubrey.He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Rosiak) Lippmann along with his parents Dora and Walter.He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, 550 Lansing St., Schenectady commencing at 10 am on Thursday, August 6, 2015 with the Rev. Carl Urban, pastor, officiating.There will be one hour of visitation at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam/Schenectady prior to the Mass on Thursday from 8:30-9:30 am.He will be laid to rest in Saint Adalbert Cemetery, Schenectady.Military honors will be offered.
