Walter E Cieszynski

Schenectady- Walter E. Cieszynski, 72, passed away on November 29, 2016 at Ellis Hospital after a courageous 34 year battle with cancer. He was born on October 7, 1944, the son of the late Edward and Irene Cieszynski. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Martha, his son Jeffrey and wife, Katherine; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Nathan and Rosa; his niece Kristina (Charles) Kabrehl, his great niece Charlotte and his cat, Sebastian, who will miss sleeping on his lap. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Helen (Herb) Bohannon of Jacksonville, Fl. and brother-in-laws Howard (Bonnie) Meade, of Chestertown, NY, Frank (Jill) Meade and Thomas Meade both of North Creek, NY. Besides his parents, Walter was also predeceased by his sister, Shirley Lukens, brother-in-law Harold Meade and sister-in-law Jeannine Meade. Walter was a graduate of Draper Central School - class of 1963. He worked at CONDEC Corporation for many years before starting his own electrical business, Walt’s Electric. He was in business for 25 plus years, retiring in 2015 due to ill health. In 1971, he married his beloved wife, Martha. They enjoyed a wonderful 45 years of marriage and friendship. His passions were hunting and his many ‘man’ toys. Every one whose life he touched remembers his smile and positive attitude. Family and friends are invited to call at Guilderland’s DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc., 5216 Western Turnpike (Route 20) on Friday, December 2 , 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Schenectady Memorial Park, Gifford Church Road, Rotterdam. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the Upstate Hematology/Oncology Office for their unending care and support. The family respectfully requests that any memorial donations can be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Albany, in Walter’s memory.
