Wade Phillips

Rotterdam – Wade A. Phillips, 84, passed away on Thursday March 28, 2024. Born in Schenectady he was the son of Albert and Esther Wade Phillips. A graduate of Draper High School, Wade went on to attend Union College for two years and then graduated from the GE apprentice program in 1964. Wade continued his career at General Electric as a tool and machine designer retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Wade volunteered many years as a coach and manager for his sons Carman Little League & Rotterdam Babe Ruth teams. He was an accomplished carpenter, builder, electrician, plumber, and auto mechanic, doing countless home improvement jobs on his home & those of his family. He will also be remembered as an avid & longtime fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He was a member of the Rotterdam united Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Mortimer Phillips; two sons, Donald (Lisa) Phillips and David (Lori) Phillips both of Rotterdam; five grandchildren, Bruce, Emma, Nicholas, Jolie and Marissa Phillips; two step grandchildren, Emma and Molly Sinisgalli; and his sister Patricia Hedler of Columbus, Ohio.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday April 2ndfrom 10 to 11am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Rotterdam United Methodist Church. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
