Vincenza Martini

Rotterdam - Vincenza Martini, 85, of Rotterdam, NY passed away at Kingsway Nursing Center on September 17, 2022. Born in Vicalvi, Frosinone, Italy, Vincenza was the daughter of Fiorinta Capozio and Pietro Muscedere. With her husband Luigi and daughter Nicolina, Vincenza emigrated to the US in 1966 where the family quickly adapted to their new life in their adopted country.Vincenza, a skilled seamstress, worked in dress factories where she learned the necessary skills to operate machinery.She was devoted to her family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was an excellent cook and also a baker of many varieties of cakes and cookies. Family events always included large trays of cookies that were lovingly prepared. Vincenza was also a master vegetable gardener, and readily shared nature’s bounty with friends and neighbors.All were welcomed to her home. She valued education highly and supported her daughter in pursuit of higher education. In addition to her parents, Vincenza was predeceased by her husband, Luigi (1999), her son Mario (1964), and brother Rosato (1984). She is survived by her loving and nurturing daughter Nicolina, of Morristown, NJ; her close cousins in Schenectady: Anna James, Alice Litts, Lorretta Wilary, and Angela Crowley; with many additional cousins in Italy, France, and Australia, as well as close nieces and nephews in Canada. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 11 from 8:45 am to 10:15 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam NY, followed at 11:00 am by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Schenectady. Interment will follow the Mass in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany.
