Vincent J. Palmucci, 92, of Rotterdam, New York, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital on March 27, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Mechanicville, New York and was the son of the late Phillip and Rose Palmucci.
After graduating from Mechanicville High School in 1951, Vincent earned a degree in Mechanical Technology from Mohawk Valley Technical Institute.
Vincent, known to most as “Vinny,” worked at General Electric for 36 years as a Mechanical Designer, and ultimately retired from TAD Resources International Inc., in 2000.
Vinny's favorite pastimes in his younger years were bowling, boating, fishing, and waterskiing. He was the family photographer who enjoyed vacationing in Italy and going on cruises. He was also an avid reader, particularly fond of Italian culture, automobiles, trains, and World Wars I and II.
In retirement, he frequented antique car shows and was a member of the Rotterdam Senior Center. Affectionately known as “Red,” he attended monthly luncheons with high school classmates at the Ugly Rooster Café in Mechanicville.
Vinny was acknowledged as a very loving and caring family man, devoted husband and father. He leaves a lasting legacy of kindness, integrity, and fond memories that have shaped our lives.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Karen and Tammy Palmucci, of Rotterdam; brother, Nick and sister-in-law, Kathy of Rotterdam; sister, Marlene Palmucci; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Carol; his brother, Carl; and his sister, Rosemary Urban.
Calling Hours will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Friday, April 10th, 2026 at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of Schenectady, 1255 Pleasant Street, Schenectady, NY.
