Rotterdam- Vincent Joseph Gallo, 82, of Rotterdam passed away on December 27, 2020. Born in Schenectady on January 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Albert and Angelina (Amoroso) Gallo. Vincent married his beloved wife, Louise Mary DiBartolomeo on August 30, 1957. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Springfield College and his Master’s Degree from SUNY Albany. He was a teacher and coach at Schalmont Central School for over 30 years. He was an accomplished house painter as well. Vincent’s greatest joy included spending time with his family. He will be remembered as an accomplished high school and college athlete, and a devoted husband and father. He had a tremendously successful coaching career in both football and wrestling. He was an avid fisherman. Vincent will be remembered for his character and toughness in which he faced during his passing. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Angelina, his brother Patrick, and his wife Louise Mary Gallo. He is survived by his sons; James (Cindy) and John (Terry), his grandchildren; Sarah, Vincent, Alexandra, and Nicholas Gallo, great-grandchildren; Jaxon and Alaiya. He is also survived by his siblings; Margaret Gallo, Albert (Joyce) Gallo, Rosalie Gallo, and many nieces and nephews. During his illness, Vincent was wonderfully supported by his brother-in-law, Joseph DiBartolomeo. Vincent’s family would like to express their deep appreciated for all who cared for him during his illness, especially; Dorothy, Irenelye, and Carrie. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306 on Thursday, December 31, from 8:15am-10:15am. A funeral service will immediately follow at 10:15am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Cyril’s Cemetery on Duanesburg Road in Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests and donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
