Victoria Milan Savona, 31, passed away peacefully December 27, 2024, after a courageous 3-year long battle against low-grade serous ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Luke Makana Hanley, and Victoria’s devoted families.
Victoria was born in Rotterdam, NY, on October 16, 1993 to Mary Ann (Tommasone) Savona and Anthony Savona. Victoria graduated with honors in 2011 from Mohonasen High School. She then continued her education at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, where she graduated in 2016 with a bachelors in Biology and minors in both Chemistry and Psychology. While at Northeastern, she interned in taxonomic imaging/database collection in the ant room at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology in Cambridge, MA, where she further grew her love of insects. During her last year at Northeastern, she interned with ERT, now known as Clario, where she began her successful career, becoming a highly-respected technical implementation manager.
Victoria was a born performer and entertainer with a beautiful singing voice. Whether she was on stage in a musical or sitting around the kitchen table with her family, when she shared her voice, she shared her light.
She was passionate about music, theater, knowledge, and learning while being curious about everything. She was a participant in the Coro Dante Choir at the Dante Alighieri Society in Cambridge. This community group brought together not just the love she had for music but the passion of her Italian culture. This disease brought to her an eagerness to learn and understand her mind and body more. Throughout treatment Tori was able to continue practicing Pilates regularly which gave her the strength to continue living an active life. She pursued this passion further, working very hard to become a nationally certified Polestar comprehensive Pilates instructor. She was uniquely gifted with her analytical skills as well as her concerns for the people around her. Most of all, Victoria lived joyfully. She was a lover of life, a friend like no other, and a kind and gentle wife, daughter, and sister.
Victoria will be remembered by her beautiful smile and infectious laugh, which were often the catalyst of her friendships and the hallmark of her closest relationships.
Victoria is survived by her husband, Luke Hanley, her grandmother, Lauretta Savona, her parents, Anthony and Mary Ann Savona, and her brother, Dominic Savona, who meant the world to her. She is survived by her in-laws, Sean and Christine Hanley, her sister-in-law, Charina Hanley, and her devoted aunts and uncles; Tim and Teresa (Savona) Diehsner, John and Cassandra Savona, Jerry and Dawn Savona, Gerald and Marie Tommasone, Tony and Patricia Tommasone, John and Kris Tommasone, and Patrick and Mary Gina (Tommasone) Igoe, as well as many cousins.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:00am-11:30am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church (3500 Carmen Rd., Schenectady, NY 12303) in Guilderland, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation hours at 12:00pm.
