Vetto was born in Guilderland, New York on October 13, 1931 to the late Joseph Vaitulis and Nellie (Varaska) Vaitulis. In his early years, Vetto went to the Pine Bush School, a two room schoolhouse. It was at the Arsenal where he met the love of his life, Marie (Gillick) Vaitulis. Vetto and Marie were married on September 5, 1970 and until Marie’s death separated them in 2020. Vetto enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Canada with Marie, hiking, camping, fishing, gardening, playing chess, and spending time at his farm chatting and laughing with friends and driving his tractor. He was a member of the Schenectady Masonic Lodge No. 1174 in Rotterdam. Vetto was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Vaitulis, and his sister, Aldona Vaitulis.

He is survived by his dear friends Lou Margitan and Rob Marotta, Marge Giedroc, Vern Gross, Joe Weir, Don Provost, Bob Crever, and many others.
