Tracy Marie (Tanis) Church

Rotterdam – Tracy Marie Church, 54, passed away on Wednesday, July 12th, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Niskayuna, Tracy is the daughter of the late Raymond and Elaine (Stoll) Tanis. A lifelong area resident, Tracy was a graduate of Mohonasen High School. Most recently Tracy worked as a hostess at Armondo’s Villa Tuscan Grill. Tracy had a great sense of humor and was a loyal friend. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Tracy dedicated her life to her family. She loved decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. Tracy is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years, Michael F. Church, her daughters, Erica Irving (Gary) and Nichole Church, her son, Michael Church, brothers, Jeffrey Tanis and Gregg Tanis and her grandchildren, Aurora Irving and Lucas Salisbury. She also leaves behind her mother and father-in-law, Terry and Joe Church, sister-in-law, Kathy Wertheim (Jason) and brother-in-laws, Steve Church (Candie) and Jim Church. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16th from 3-5pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. A prayer service will begin promptly at 10:15am on Monday morning followed by a memorial mass that will be celebrated at 11am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Albany St. in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tracy’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Tracy’s family would like to thank Dr. Nigam, Dr. Tai, Dr. Saud and Community Hospice for the wonderful care that they gave Tracy during her illness.
