Rotterdam, NY -It is with profound sadness the family of Tina Marie Novak announces her passing on Thursday night, May 11th 2023, after a brief battle with aggressive lymphoma.
Tina was born November 16th 1958 and raised in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of her late adoptive parents Douglas and Esther Hogan. She was the sister of William (Dori) Hogan of Florida and Richard (late Betty) Hogan of Texas. Tina married her true love Albert Joseph Novak Jr. on April 21st, 1979 at St. Adalbert’s Church on Lansing St, Schenectady, NY and were happily together for 44 years. Together they raised two children, Jennifer Ann Novak (Dusty Benson) of Hebron, NY and Albert Joseph Novak III (Brittany) of Rotterdam, NY and have been blessed with two amazing grandchildren Alivia Novak and Kacey Benson. She is survived by several cousins.
Tina had a very over the top out-going personality and loved going on vacation with her family to Black Lake, NY, and attending concerts with her friends up and down the east coast. She was an award winning quilter and belonged to Q.U.I.L.T.S of Schenectady, an avid bowler on the women's league at Erie Blvd. bowl, and a compassionate nurse who worked in the emergency room, NICU, ICU, pulmonary cardiovascular wing, hospice end of life care, and most recently as a case manager for Fidelis over her long career.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 from 4-7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, NY. Funeral service and interment will be private. The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Northeastern New York in memory of Tina Marie Novak.
