Rotterdam – Timothy Joseph Proper, 74, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 15th, 2016 with his family by his side. Born in Troy, NY, Tim was the son of the late Leo and Stella (Dombeck) Proper. Tim honorably served his country in the United States Airforce from 1960 to 1964. He worked for many years as an HVAC Mechanic at General Electric Research and Development in Niskayuna. An avid golfer and fisherman, Tim was a diehard NY Giants fan. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rotterdam United Methodist Church. Tim leaves behind his beloved wife, Carolyn E. (Alger) Proper, his daughters, Barbara Beniston (John) and Karen Walton (Richard), and his son, Edward Johnson (Nancy) as well as 7 grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 20th from 10-11:30am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A funeral service will be held at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment with military honors will be at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
