Thomasina "Sina" (Marcella) Vacca

Tarpon Springs, FL - Thomasina Vacca, 83, formerly of Schenectady, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 with her son, Joe at her side. Born in Schenectady, Thomasina was the daughter of the late John L. and Nellie (Longe) Marcella. Thomasina worked as comptroller for several years at Marcella’s Appliances in Schenectady, NY. Previously she spent many years as an executive for Zemex Electronics in New York City and later CHS Inc. in Miami, Florida. She was involved in numerous organizations including Guild of Florida, Grand Opera of Miami, Salon Group, The Chopin Foundation, CHS Cares, and The Dranoff 2 Piano Competition. Thomasina is predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Danielle Vacca. She leaves behind her devoted son, Joe Vacca of Loveland, CO, her brothers, John D. Marcella of Guilderland and James Marcella of Niskayuna, as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be heldon Tuesday evening,August 16th, from 4-6pmat St. John the Evangelist Church,806 Union St., Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the churchat 6pmimmediately following calling hours. Thomasina will be laid to rest next to her granddaughter, Danielle, in Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor, CO.
