Thomas Albert Summers Jr. was called home to God on October 29, 2012. Thomas was born on November 8, 1926. He was the son of the late Thomas A. Summers and Antonia Skoda Summers. A graduate of Draper High School, Tom served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Following his discharge, Tom entered the Apprentice program at General Electric. He worked as a draftsman in the Large Motor & Generator Division for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting. He also enjoyed Golf and bowling. Thomas was a member of the Rotterdam Dist. #3 Fire Department for 15 years. In addition to his parents, Tom was also predeceased by his son David Summers, his sister Beverly Odasz, his brother Robert Summers and sister in law, Susan Summers. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen O'Connor Summers, two daughters, Cynthia Fondulis of San Antonio, TX. and Karen Summers of Quintana Island, TX., two grandsons, Ryan (Lora) Fondulis and Damon (Nicole) Fondulis, one great granddaughter Abigail, his cousins, Gordie (Barb) Ellis, Judy (Joseph) Baily and Marlene Cintula. Tom is also survived by many other cousins, nephews and nieces. Calling hours will be private. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning, 10 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Princetown Rd. in Rotterdam. Entombment will follow the Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
