Thomas A Statuto

Thomas A. Statuto, 82 of Rotterdam died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Ellis Hospital following a long illness. Thomas was born in Schenectady and graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1949. He served in U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. Thomas was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Albany for 31 years and retired in 1987. He was an avid Yankee fan and also bowled in leagues at the Bowlers Club and Mont Pleasant Lanes. Thomas was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks and was a life member of the American Legion Post 1005. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Mary Grippo Statuto. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Statuto of Rotterdam as well as several cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, March 8, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St. Schenectady. Burial will be private at St. John's cemetery.
