Oropallo and stepmother, Carmella Oropallo. He graduated from Amsterdam High School in

before it was cool to like Country Music! He loved his Irish heritage and could frequently be
seen wearing a baseball cap with a shamrock on it. On most days you could find Tom wearing
a T-shirt with a humorous message on it which mirrored his great sense of humor. He was a
“master” garage sale shopper and bargain hunter, never buying anything for himself, always for
a family member or a friend. He would share any gifts that he would receive with those around
him.
Tom couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try to win a stuffed animal in a “Claw” game, which he
was very good at playing!! His nieces and nephews were always the recipients of the prizes he
won. He loved family time, especially playing with his nieces and nephews and grand nieces
and grand nephews. Tom was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grand uncle and friend. He was
loved by all of his nieces and nephews and was affectionately known as “U.T.
” He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Tom’s family would like to thank the staff at Hillcrest
Springs Assisted Living, St. Mary’s Hospital (2nd and 4th floor and ICU staff) and Wilkinson
Nursing Facility (1st floor staff). His family will be forever grateful for the care and compassion
they demonstrated to and for Tom and his family while he was under their care.
