Thomas E Griffiths

Duanesburg- Thomas E. Griffiths, 73, of Van Patten Road, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children on August 12, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Utica in 1941, a son of the late Thomas and Gertrude Daly Griffiths. After serving 4 years in the United States Air Force, Tom began his 40 year banking career with Mohawk National Bank culminating in his retirement from NBT Bank in 2006. Upon his retirement he and two good friends and colleagues ran a consulting firm, Risk Management Resource, LLC. Thomas is survived by his children Patrick of Niskayuna, Timothy (Mary Jo) of Owsego, and Kathleen (Edward) Sprenger of Rotterdam, seven grandchildren Brendan and Alayna Griffiths, Sophia, Olivia, and Trevor Griffiths and Nathan and Andrew Sprenger, brother Fred (Janet), sister in law Sarah Zeliff (Larry) and brother in law Robert Tuttle (Audrey Weber) and many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife of 45 years Priscilla on July 8, 2009. Tom's second family of close friends was a source of great comfort and joy in his life.Thank you. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Rotterdam United Methodist Church Helderberg Aveon Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery, Quaker Street NY. The family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Schenectady Hospice or the Rotterdam United Methodist Church.
