Niskayuna – Thomas J. Friedman, 69, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022. Born in Johnstown, PA, Thomas was the son of the late Anthony and Anne (Bryn) Friedman. Tom earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and his Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Duquesne University. He worked for many years at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA and then at the Watervliet Arsenal employed by the Department of Defense for 40 years. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Denise Krefesky Friedman. He is survived by his brother, Mark Friedman of Johnstown, PA and his special friend, Phyllis “Dee” Milliman. A funeral mass will take place in Schenectady at St. John the Evangelist Church on Tuesday, August 16th at 12 PM. A second mass will be celebrated at a later date in Johnstown, PA at St. Therese Church, followed by burial with his parents at Grandview Cemetery.
