Schenectady – Thomas Lee Diemer, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 19th, 2018. Tom was born in Niskayuna to his parents, Theresa (Simonds) Diemer and the late Frederick Diemer. Tom graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and worked as a salesman at Sears for 30 years. He later worked for the US Postal Service as a mail sorter for 10 years. With a lifelong passion for baseball, Tom was a diehard NY Yankees fan. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball and baseball in his spare time. Left behind to cherish Tom’s memory are his devoted wife of 55 years, Patricia A. (Dagostino) Diemer, his mother, Theresa G. Diemer, his loving, children, Thomas Diemer (Sandy Banghart), Deborah Vachon (Jeffrey), Michael Diemer (Nuria Wheeler) and Robert Diemer (Tina Liberatore) and his 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Alan Diemer (Patti) and his sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, Marjorie Melideo (Joseph) and Kathleen Wood (Douglas) as well as several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 22nd from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Funeral services will take place on Friday morning at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Schenectady.
