Thomas Patrick Burns

Schenectady - Thomas Patrick Burns, 64, of Schenectady, passed away Saturday October 4, 2014 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness with pancreatic cancer. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Patrick and Margaret Chourder Burns. Tom moved to Albany and lived there for many years. He worked in the Shipping & Receiving department of Freihofer's in Schenectady for 28 years and then went on to work for Professional Fire Restoration Service in Albany. He is survived by his two sons; Patrick W. Burns (16), Nicholas T. Burns (15) and their mother Stephanie Hanley all of Schenectady. Two sisters; Patsy Burchell of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Alice Burns of Toronto. Two Brothers; Danny Burns of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and Earnest Burns of Barrie, Ontario. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 3-4 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, with a service following at 4 p.m.
