Theresa A. Russell

Theresa A. Russell passed away peacefully at the age of 100 at home on Monday, March 30, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 22, 1925 to Francis and Marion (Grzybowski) Borowski in Rotterdam, NY.

During her lifetime, she has demonstrated in countless ways her dedication and love to her family and friends. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time at the camp, holidays with family, attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren school activities and sporting events. She was a member of the Guilderland Senior Needlepoint and RSVP groups where she crocheted and donated items to various charities for over 20 years, and a communicant of the St. Madeleine Sophie Church for 78 years, and a member of the prayer group. Theresa was also an avid New York Yankees fan.

Predeceased in death by her husband, Royal, daughter, Linda, and parents, Francis and Marion Borowski. She is survived by her children, Francis (Beverly), Diane McGroty (Hugo), Thomas, Richard, and Joseph; grandchildren, Wendy (William Behler), Amy Howlan, Mathew, and Mary and grandchildren, Sean and Brooke Howlan; sisters, Dolores Pryszmant and Sr. Mary Lucille. Predeceased in death by her sisters, Genevieve Borowski, Emily Borowski, Irene Bubniak, Shirley Mlodzianowski, and brother Myron Borowski.

The family would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lori and The Community Hospice staff for the compassionate care they provided.

Funeral services are at the St. Madeleine Sophie Church on Carman Road in Guilderland, from 10 am to 12 pm, Mass immediately following, on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
