Rotterdam- Thelma L. Goode, 93, formerly of St. Anna Drive, passed away peacefully at Capital Living after a brief illness. She was born in Rensselaer, NY on September 22, 1923 a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Mae Clifton Davis. She was married to her husband Joseph Goode for 51 years until his death on December 6, 1995. Thelma was employed for many years as a chemical tester for Winthrop Chemicals. Her family lovingly remembers her as devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Thelma was an avid doll collector numbering in the thousands she was member of the National Doll Association ,was a great cook and baker and loved volunteering at the local nursing homes. Thelma was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She is survived by her children Paul Goode of Schenectady , Sheila Dolgowich of Rotterdam and David Goode of Liverpool. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Michael Dolgowich, Jaime (Guy) Garmer Jr., Joseph (Laura) Goode, Paula Goode, Sarah Goode, Michelle (Jesse) Batisti and Katie Goode and nine great grandchildren. For the last couple of years , she made her home with her granddaughter Jaime and her husband Guy Jr and their four children Guy III, Elaina, James and Violet Garmer, a home she truly enjoyed in her later years. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Sunday July 30, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday July 31, 2017 at St. Gabriel’s Church Rotterdam. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Corner of Kings Road and Albany Street Schenectady.
