Thaddeus H. "Ted" Kernozek, 79 of Voorhesville, passed away at home on Monday, January 26, 2015. Ted was born in Albany, the son of the late Alexander and Alice Malze Kiernozek and was a graduate of Voorheesville High School.He joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. Ted continued with his education and graduated from SUNY Morrisville, and received his Bachelors degree from Russell sage. He was employed as a Research Biologist at the former Sterling- Winthrop Lab in Rensselaer, retiring in 1993. Ted was an active member of the community and served as Treasurer of the Hart Hose (Fire Dept.) in Rensselaer, was a life member of the Knights of Columbus in Rensselaer, the Guilderland Elks Lodge, and was Elk of the Year 2007-2008, the Albany Polish Club and the Voorheesville American Legion Post . In addition to his parents, Ted was also predeceased by his brothers, Chester Kiernozek and Joseph Kernozek. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eileen Albert Kernozek, four children; Steven (Brenda) Kernozek of Malone, NY, Diane (Vincent) Farrell of Johnsonville, NY, Andrew (Holly) Kernozek of Guilderland, NY and Richard (Christine) Kernozek of Newburg, MD., his sisters in law and brothers in law; Hilda Kernozek and Marion Kiernozek, John (Mary Agnes) Albert and Jerry (Mary Lou) Albert, eight grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Tpk. (Rt. 20) in Guilderland. Funeral services will begin on Monday, 9 am from the funeral home, followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthews Church in Voorheesville. Burial will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Albany. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
