Thaddeus V. Grzywaczewski (Grey), 87, of Rotterdam, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady , NY surrounded by his family following a sudden illness. He was born in Schenectady, NY on September 8, 1927, son of the late Anthony Grzywaczewski and Antonia (Kobylarz). He owned a Polish Grocery store (Grey's Food Market) in the Mont Pleasant area and was known for his Polish kielbasa.Ted loved spending time with his children and friends. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret (Rakvica), 6 children Claudia (Kenneth) Baczkowski of Pattersonville, Margaret (William) Bradbury of Pennsylvania, Thaddeus (Katherine) Grey of Canandaigua, Susan (Greg) Kerber of Cohoes, Terese (Thomas) O'Brien of Latham, Cynthia (Dennis) Connelly of Clifton Park; a brother, Paul Grzywaczewski; sisters in law, Patricia and Henrietta and Aunt Sophia; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Stephen Grey and by a sister, Helen Robinson. Calling hours will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.The funeral will commence at 9 am on Saturday, May 2 from the chapel of the funeral home and at 9:30 am from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Schenectady.Procession will follow to St. Cyril Cemetery, Schenectady where entombment will take place.In lieu of flowers, kindly send memorial offerings to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Schenectady, NY 12306.
