Rotterdam - Mrs. Teresa Frances Mary (Renna) Raymond, 91, of Amsterdam Ave., Town of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2022 at Ellis Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Teresa was born on March 26, 1931 in Schenectady, NY, daughter of the late Francesco and Antoinette (Iovino) Renna, and raised in the Schenectady area. While working at Knolls Atomic Power Lab, she met her future husband, and was united in marriage with Albert E. Raymond, Jr., enjoying a blessed and loving union of 58 years until Albert’s passing on March 14, 2014. For many years, Teresa was a homemaker, considering family and home her most important priority. After her children were grown, Teresa returned to work, first for FW Woolworth, and eventually for the State of NY Insurance Division, enjoying great personal growth and many warm friendships which continued into her retirement. Teresa enjoyed art and painting, traveling the area with friends for painting lessons. She also enjoyed picnics with the entire family, whether at a relative’s home, or often at Birch Haven on Sacandaga Lake, or at John Boyd Thacher State Park. Teresa was predeceased by her siblings Anthony Renna, Dr. P. Joseph Renna, Carmella Greppo, and Frances Brehm. Survivors include her loving and devoted family; her children; Hon. Albert E. Raymond, (Lisa), of Berne, NY, Alesa M. Hughto, (Gene), of Apollo Beach, FL, and Frank J. Raymond, (Allison) of Duanesburg, NY, her grandchildren; Sarah R. Zahirovic, (Kemal) of Wethersfield, CT, Michelle Teresa Raymond, (Tom) of Priest River, ID, and Alisa N. Flansburg, (Brett) of Bristol, VT, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all who were loved very much. Also surviving are in-laws Antoinette Renna, of Rotterdam, NY, Frances Fazzone of Panama City, FL, and Carol Adams, (John) of Duanesburg, NY. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 10:00am at the chapel of DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service, from 8:30-10:00am. Procession will follow to Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, where she will be laid to rest with her husband in the family plot.
