Susan “Susie” M. Baker (Pugliano), 62, of Schenectady passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2024 surrounded by her family after a short illness. Born in Schenectady on February 7, 1962, Susan was the youngest child to Joseph and Celestina (Miceli) Pugliano, and attended Mohonasen High School. Susan was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and recently St. Paul’s Church where she was graced with a strong faith and love of her Lord.
Susan worked in the Call Center for NYS Department of Public Service. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, and watching hallmark movies. She was always up for an adventure. Whether it be to Saratoga, Lake George, or a bus trip to a casino. Susan loved hosting family and friends and always welcomed new friends. Susan was predeceased by her parents Celestina & Joseph Pugliano, Sr. And her older brother Joseph Pugliano Jr. As well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her Daughter Christina VanKeuren (Jeremy) of Rotterdam and her Brother Michael Pugliano (Sandra Arneault) of Cohoes; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
As per her wishes, Susan was privately cremated. Memorial calling hours will be held on July 11, 2024 from 8 to 10am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 2777 Albany Street, in Schenectady. Susan will be laid to rest at St. Cyril’s Cemetery in Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to either The Regional Food Bank of North Eastern NY, or to the City Mission of Schenectady.
